Kahlil
Biography
Kahlil in the Hebrew language means "peaceful" and in an African tongue it means "change"…the group aspires to make a peaceful change through music, so like a glove the name fits….
They say a match made in heaven and we often expect a marriage and this can be said for the meeting of Kahlil and Showjam Entertainment Company. In our quest to find the best talents, when Kahlil came to our offices seeking management we did not hesitate to sign them. They possessed the humility and drive and of course the talent that are the ingredients to making stars. They were not afraid of hard work and eagerly they divulged into rigorous rehearsals.
Having met in Church the core of the group existed but they fulfilled their sound when they found Que…noticeably a small man, boyish in appearance he surprised everyone when he belts out powerhouse vocals expecting to be coming from a man six feet tall or two fifty pounds. The backbone of the group lies in the foundation member who is the arranger and leader of Kahlil…Blain. His inspiration comes from his two favorite artists; Wayburn Dean and Acapella and the influence can be found in his arrangements. Blessed with rich tenor vocals, he often proves his flexibility as he sings all parts in the group. Deli as we fondly call him is the man with the highest range and thus he wows his audience every time. He uses his vocals to make sounds of every instrument in a band so we joke sometimes that we walked with a band. Wayne is the bassist when we do acapella performances but with a band he thrills the ladies as a lead vocalist. He is the suave and cool one much like most bassist but all that changes once he hears the word Party!! Normally the one to start the party, Shane is the youngest member. Happy go lucky, always ready to play or start a joke, Shane is blessed with strong vocals. His personality allows him to be an exceptional performer as the stage is his favorite place.
Kahlil has earned a spot in the music business as clients constantly request them. They have not lost the zest or drive to work hard as they are aware of the nature of the music business. They have been working out in the studio with amazing results coming forth. This is quite an interesting twist to their early beginnings, as they have been toying with the dancehall genre and seeming to be creating a new sound to it. They already have a fan base as they have done quite a few concerts and local showings and thus seem to carry a following wherever they perform.
They are dedicated talents who aspire for the summit and realize that it will take hard work so they have been putting in the required efforts. When asked why they are prepared to dedicate their lives to music, in unison they answer ‘it’s easy…it’s natural’. Kahlil is definitely one of the talents that Showjam Entertainment has a lot of faith in and we know that in time they will be creating waves in Jamaica.
