Welcome to the hard and tedious journey of being a model. Since you are reading this, you obviously want to be a model. To be a model is a decision made first by God, and then with your hard work and dedication you do the rest. Irrespective of how much you want to model, if you are short and unattractive you will never make it. To the reverse, it doesn't matter how striking and tall you are, if you do not possess the attitude and dedication, you too will not make it. The world of modeling is glamorous and rewarding, especially, if you enjoy it however it is a lot of hard work. As an introduction we will outline our selection and grooming process, a little about our agency and our aim.
SMA aims at assisting young people to achieve their goals and attain their dreams. We are an entertainment company so we specialize in talents. Showjam Promotions Company is a fairly young company with SMA being our modeling subsidiary launched December 2005. The directors are specialists in the areas of Film, Photography and Fitness. Showjam Promotions Company being a management company will manage all the booking and direction of growth. With a clear and precise plan, once the talent is scouted they then do photo sessions with a Showjam representative. These pictures are viewed by the directors and a decision is made. Once selected the talent is enrolled in our grooming process, which is done one on one for the most part. After grooming, the talent will be encouraged and assisted in finding a flexible job that will not hinder their modeling prospects. The ultimate aim is to get the talent signed to an overseas agency however during this process the talent will do local fashion shows, hosts and act as presenters at events and functions, commercials , music videos, movie extras and general entertainment modeling jobs.
Obviously, it is a decision that has to be made by both parties with hard work, dedication and sacrifices being the main ingredients. SMA models will stand out above all others, because from the onset you must know that what you put in, is what you get out. SMA will aim at grooming the mind, the body and the soul. The three distinct qualities that defines SMA are PRESENCE, CONFIDENCE and DISCIPLINE. All SMA models must be identified by these qualities. Presence is displayed by dynamisim, extreme walk, and positive attitude. Confidence is shown through being charming, humble and pleasant as a lot of models think being catty and tearing down someone else gives them confidence. Know your strong points and it doesn't matter how strong or weak the next person is, it doesn't affect you because you are competing with yourself to be the best you can be. Discipline is representing all the values of a professional model which are the values taught in SMA grooming sessions.
