Unlike most singers Suzanne Perkins did not start singing in church nor at school; actually when asked she can only remember singing once in the latter part of High School. So how could that powerhouse of vocals stay undiscovered for so long? A shy eighteen year old, Suzanne always stayed clear of the spotlight. She has much to say but until now did not find her medium to do so. When given a pen and a rhythm she just explodes lyrically. Finding her comfort zone on stage and just belting with her gift she connects to her audience. Always wanting to be a singer she was convinced at sixteen (16) years old by family and friends to enter National Talent contest “Digicel Rising Star” where she earned the title as the youngest finalist in the competition’s history. Jamaica loved her and saw the raw talent and warmed to her charisma, placing her in the top three of the strongest crop of contestants in the competition’s run. One might say she ‘took the money and run’ but she went on to finish her schooling and secure her ‘backup plan’ she likes to say. “Music is my life. That’s what I want to do” says Suzanne; and thus it’s no surprise she ended up in the stable of Showjam Promotions, one of Jamaica’s Premiere Management Companies. Armed with a plan and talent, Suzanne Perkins is definitely a name, face and voice that will emerge on the music scene. Offers are already coming in and commendations are flowing as to her improvement over the past two years. She is currently performing in the resorts along Jamaica’s north coast, gaining and owning her performance skills. She is writing and preparing to record with some of Jamaica’s renowned Producers.
